Born and raised in Devon, the idyllic seaside town on the Southwest Coast of England, Chef de Cuisine Kirk Westaway has over a decade of international culinary experience – of which nearly half has been cultivated at JAAN. Now known as JAAN by Kirk Westaway, this internationally celebrated restaurant was decorated with its first Michelin star in 2016, under the leadership of Chef Westaway. As Chef de Cuisine since July 2015, Chef Westaway has a deep regard for seasonal produce as he grew up surrounded by Devon’s abundant bounty of fresh vegetables and fruits as well as some of the United Kingdom’s best dairy farms. Chef Westaway adds a dramatic touch to the concept of fine dining at JAAN with his bold yet elegant combination of flavours and textures, as well as refined techniques and artful plating. Drawing from both his English heritage and a strong culinary training under world-renowned chefs, Chef Westaway is recognised for his mastery in reinventing gastronomic classics that are easily received as comforting and refined.
